Engagement Ring and Wedding Band as One Design
The defining characteristic of a bridal set is that both rings are designed as one composition rather than two separate pieces brought together.
A standard engagement ring is shaped for the engagement ring's role: holding the center diamond or gemstone, carrying the design statement of the proposal moment. A standard wedding band is shaped for its role: sitting against the finger as the daily ring, often paired against the engagement ring after the wedding. When the two are designed separately, they meet at a contact point — flat band against engagement ring shank — that creates a visual gap or overlap.
A bridal set's engagement ring is designed knowing what the wedding band will be. The shank curve matches the band's curve; the diamond patterns coordinate; the visual line continues across both rings. Worn together, the bridal set reads as a single piece of jewelry rather than as two stacked rings. Worn apart, each ring still reads as complete on its own — the engagement ring isn't dependent on the band, and the band doesn't read as incomplete without the engagement ring.
Featured Bridal Sets
The bridal sets in this collection span multiple design vocabularies.
The Sierra Aquamarine Pear Halo Wedding Set: A pear-shape aquamarine engagement ring with diamond halo and marquise compass-point accents, paired with the Tara wedding band carrying alternating marquise and round diamonds. Customer-selected aquamarine.
The Kallely & Kiran Modern Asymmetrical Wedding Set: An oval bezel engagement ring with asymmetric design, paired with the Kiran curved wedding band. Both rings share architectural asymmetric lines. Customer-selected oval diamond.
The Shae Vintage Style Diamond Wedding Set: A pear bezel engagement ring with diamond halo, paired with a matched diamond band. Vintage-inspired proportions, 14K gold only.
The Bellamy Art Deco Diamond Wedding Set: A baguette diamond engagement ring with geometric cluster, paired with a continuous round diamond band. Art deco architecture, 14K gold only.
The Brooklyn Art Deco Wedding Set with Baguettes: A baguette diamond engagement ring with stepped geometric cluster, paired with a chevron diamond band. Angular composition, 14K gold only.
Each set is priced and ordered together — the set total reflects both rings; the customer-selected center stone (when applicable) is additional.
Customizing Your Bridal Set
The bridal sets in this collection can be customized in several ways without changing the design language that defines them.
Center stone selection: For sets with customer-selected centers (Sierra, Kallely & Kiran), the engagement ring's center stone is chosen during the design process. Aquamarines, diamonds, and other gemstones are sourced individually from our global inventory based on your color, clarity, and budget preferences.
Metal choice: Sets are available in 14K yellow, white, or rose gold. Some sets are also available in platinum at a slight upcharge. Two-tone metal combinations (yellow center setting with white shank, for example) can be designed during the customization conversation.
Diamond quality and origin: All accent diamonds on the engagement ring and wedding band can be specified as lab grown or natural. Customer-selected center stones are also available in both lab and natural options.
Engraving: Both rings in the set can be engraved on the interior — most couples engrave the wedding date, initials, or a short phrase. Engraving is included on most made-to-order bridal sets at no additional charge.
Buying as a Set Versus Buying Separately
Bridal sets are designed to be purchased together, but the rings can also be ordered separately if budget or timeline considerations require it.
Many couples buy the engagement ring first — at the time of the proposal — and order the wedding band later, closer to the wedding date. The bridal sets in this collection support this approach: the wedding band is designed alongside the engagement ring but can be ordered as a separate purchase later. We hold the design specifications for each set so the matched band can be made later to fit the engagement ring already produced.
Some couples buy the rings separately for other reasons — different metal preferences for the wedding day, allocating budget over multiple months, or one partner ordering and gifting each ring at different stages. The set is designed to work either way: the engagement ring stands on its own without the band, and the band can be added later when desired.
Buying both rings as a set typically saves slightly compared to buying each ring independently — the set pricing reflects the design and production efficiency of making both rings together.
Designing a Custom Bridal Set
If the bridal sets in this collection don't match your vision, Lisa designs custom bridal sets through private design appointments. This is the broader Lisa Robin design service: bringing an engagement ring concept to Lisa, working through center stone selection, designing the setting, and then designing a matched wedding band that nests against the engagement ring you've designed.
Custom bridal sets are particularly suited for couples who:
— Have a center diamond or gemstone with specific cut or proportion that requires a custom setting, and want the matched band designed to fit that specific ring
— Want a bridal set built around a fancy-shape diamond (pear, marquise, asscher, radiant) where the wedding band shape is critical to nesting fit
— Have a specific design vocabulary (Art Nouveau, brutalist, organic naturalist) that doesn't appear in our standard bridal set collection
— Want both rings designed together from the start with a unique theme — celestial, botanical, architectural, etc.
Custom bridal sets are designed through Zoom, phone, or in-person appointments and crafted in 3-4 weeks once the design is approved.
Sizing and Care for Bridal Sets
Bridal sets are sized for the wearer's specific finger size at the time of design. Standard ring sizes 4 through 11 (including half sizes) are supported; for sizes outside this range, contact us during the design conversation to confirm feasibility.
Because the engagement ring and wedding band are made in matched gold (14K or 18K) or platinum, both rings can be resized later if finger size changes. Resizing involves adjusting the band circumference; for diamond-set bands like the Bellamy or Brooklyn, the diamonds may need to be reset depending on how much size adjustment is required. We handle resizing through our crafting workshop — contact us when you need a resize and we'll guide you through the process.
Care for a bridal set follows the same principles as care for any fine jewelry. Remove the rings before heavy manual work, gym workouts with weights, gardening, or activities involving harsh chemicals. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth weekly; have the rings professionally cleaned annually. Diamond bands with prong settings benefit from annual prong inspection to catch any loosening before a diamond is lost.
Designed in Dayton
Every bridal set in this collection is designed by Lisa Robin at her studio in Dayton, Ohio. The design work happens through customer appointments — Zoom, phone, or in-person — where Lisa works with the couple through center stone selection, setting design, and matched band design. Once the design is approved, the rings are crafted in our New York workshop.
The bridal sets in this collection emerged as designs Lisa kept making for couples — designs that work as cohesive pairs and that couples kept choosing variations of. Listing them as defined sets makes them accessible to couples who want a designed bridal set without starting from scratch, while preserving the option for full custom design when the couple wants something specific to their relationship.
Lisa Robin Jewelry serves couples nationwide through remote design appointments. The bridal sets ship to all 50 states; international shipping is available on request.
