Scotch Black Ceramic Ring with Whiskey Barrel Wood Inlay

Cosmic is a black tungsten ring with crushed alexandrite and dark blue-purple crushed goldstone inlaid through the center channel. A wedding band where the inlay reads like a deep night sky — scattered particles of color against a black metal frame.

The Scotch runs a channel of reclaimed whiskey barrel oak through the center of a black ceramic band — genuine oak from barrels once used to age whiskey at the Jack Daniel's Distillery, so each ring carries its own grain and char. At 8mm with a matte finish, the warm wood reads against the flat black surface: character from the material itself, not ornament added to it.

Where does the wood inlay come from?

The inlay is genuine oak reclaimed from whiskey barrels once used to age whiskey at the Jack Daniel's Distillery. Because each barrel aged spirits for years, the wood carries its own grain, color variation, and char — so the inlay in your ring is unique to it.

Is black ceramic durable enough for daily wear?

Yes. We offer interior engraving up to 30 characters, with 8 font choices to select from during checkout. The engraving is done inside the band (visible to the wearer only) — most couples choose initials, a meaningful date, a short phrase, or coordinates. Engraving is not available on the outside of these alternative metal bands due to the construction of the materials.

How do I care for the wood inlay?

The inlay is natural wood, so give it a little more care than an all-metal band. Keep it away from prolonged water — take it off before swimming, showering, or washing dishes — and avoid harsh chemicals. Wipe it clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth.

Alternative metals cannot be resized like gold or platinum. If your finger size changes, we offer free size exchanges for the lifetime of your ring—just contact us to arrange.
Note: exchanges are for size only, not style, and any engraving or custom work will need to be redone at your expense.

Cosmic Black Ceramic Ring with Whiskey Barrel Wood Inlay

The Scotch runs a channel of reclaimed whiskey barrel oak through the center of a black ceramic band. The wood is genuine oak from barrels once used to age whiskey at the Jack Daniel's Distillery — each inlay carries the grain, tone, and char of a barrel that held spirits for years, so no two rings are identical. Set into a matte black ceramic frame at 8mm, the warm wood reads against the flat black surface: character that comes from the material itself rather than ornament added to it.
The flat profile keeps the band low and even across the finger, with smooth surfaces and no raised edges to catch. Ceramic makes it practical for daily wear — lightweight, hypoallergenic, and highly scratch-resistant, with color that runs through the material rather than sitting on top as a coating, so the black won't wear away. The matte finish keeps the surface non-reflective, letting the wood grain carry the look.

What to Know Before You Choose Your Alternative Metal Ring

Built to last a lifetime — here's what makes these rings different.

Tungsten, titanium, and ceramic wedding rings offer outstanding scratch resistance and a modern aesthetic that holds up over time. For men who are hard on their hands or prefer a low-maintenance ring, alternative metals are a practical and stylish choice.

Alternative metal rings are available in whole and half sizes. Because of the hardness of these materials, they cannot be resized after they are made. If you're unsure of your size, contact us — we'll send you a finger sizer before you order.

Alternative metals cannot be removed with a standard ring cutter in a medical emergency. It's a practical consideration worth factoring into your decision. Many couples choose gold or platinum for this reason — we're happy to talk through the options with you.
