Setting starts at $2,995 in 14K gold and $3,395 in platinum. Paired with a 1 carat lab grown diamond center, add $900 — the Layla starts at approximately $3,895 in 14K gold. You can select your diamond online or during a design appointment.

Will a hidden halo make my center diamond look bigger?

No. A hidden halo is a row of small diamonds set on the basket below your center diamond instead of around its edge, so it adds light to the profile rather than size to the center. It shows from the side and stays out of sight from above. On the Layla it runs along two sides of the basket.

Is the Layla a good choice if I want a solitaire look from above?

Yes. From above you see your center diamond with nothing around its edge. The tulip prongs are shaped like petals at the base and narrow to a claw at the tip, so the flower shape appears only when you see the ring in profile.

How does the Layla compare to the Gabriella?

Both have a split shank. The Gabriella frames your diamond in an eight-sided basket with a milgrain edge. The Layla leaves the diamond's outline open and puts its detail underneath, in the tulip prongs and the hidden halo. Choose by where you want the detail: around your diamond or below it.

Our guided approach to customizing each ring with intention and clarity.

Every Lisa Robin ring is made to order, which means your design can be thoughtfully refined—even when ordering online. Whether you’re adjusting a detail or evolving the design, we guide you through each decision to ensure the final piece feels cohesive and entirely yours.

Design Refinements can be explored after your initial order, with any pricing adjustments clearly outlined and approved before crafting begins.

Refinement options include but are not limited to:

  • Adjusting the width or taper of the band (shank)
  • Modifying or adding side diamonds for additional detail or presence
  • Changing the prong style (claw, round, double prong, etc.)
  • Adjusting the number of prongs for both aesthetic and structure
  • Refining the basket design for a different profile or overall look
  • Selecting your preferred metal type and color
  • Adapting the design to better coordinate with a wedding ring
Made to order — Your diamond engagement ring ships in 3-4 weeks, approximately Oct 30 to Nov 02

Layla Split Shank Engagement Ring

Layla Split Shank Engagement Ring

From above, the Layla is a solitaire. One diamond, nothing around its edge.

Turn your hand and the rest appears. A hidden halo doesn't make the center look larger; it lights the profile, and on the Layla it rises out of petals the way a tulip opens.

The split shank does quieter work. The band divides in two as it reaches the setting, giving the ring a wider base while the band stays slim under your finger.

It reads as a solitaire to everyone else, and as something more to you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Lisa Robin Engagement Rings

Lisa Robin designs custom and made-to-order engagement rings across every major style — solitaire, halo, hidden halo, side stone, three stone, cluster, bezel, east-west, vintage, and twist. Each design can be set with a colorless diamond, a colored diamond, or a colored gemstone, in any shape, in 14K gold or platinum.
Settings in this collection start at $2,095. Paired with a 1 carat lab grown diamond center, a starting engagement ring is approximately $2,995. Final pricing depends on the design, the metal, and the diamond or gemstone you choose. Colored gemstone pricing varies by gem type, color, and origin, which we discuss during the design process.
Yes. You can personalize any design online — diamond, metal, and finger size — or book a private design appointment by Zoom, phone, or in studio to modify a design or create one from scratch. Lisa guides you through the process and you see renderings of your ring before it is crafted.
Each ring is made to order and ready in approximately 3-4 weeks from the time your design is approved.
Both are real diamonds with identical physical and optical properties. A lab grown diamond is created in a controlled setting and generally lets you reach a larger or higher-quality diamond for the same budget. A natural diamond forms over geologic time. The choice is yours.
It depends on how you want the diamond to sit on your hand. A solitaire puts the diamond first; a halo makes it read larger; a hidden halo adds sparkle only seen from the side; a bezel gives the most secure, modern line; a cluster or twist makes a more individual statement. Because every design is hand-crafted to your diamond, you can pair most styles with most shapes.
All four — 14K yellow, white, and rose gold, and platinum — wear well for daily use. White gold and platinum give the brightest, most neutral backdrop for a diamond. Yellow and rose gold add warmth around the center. The best choice is the tone you want to see on your hand.
Yes. If you love a design as it is, you can select your diamond, metal color, and finger size and complete your order online. An appointment is only needed if you want to modify a design or create something fully custom.
Every ring is made in the USA — designed in our private studio in Dayton, Ohio, and hand-crafted in our New York workshop. We serve couples nationwide through virtual appointments, and in person in Dayton.
Place your order online and we'll guide you through your diamond and design choices, or book a private design appointment — virtual, by phone, or in studio — to design your ring together from the start.
