Is an emerald practical for an engagement ring?

Emerald is 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for daily wear, but it naturally contains inclusions that make it more sensitive to sharp knocks than a sapphire or diamond. A full bezel is the setting we recommend for emerald because it covers the edge and the pear's point. Remove it for heavy work, and avoid ultrasonic cleaners.

Which metal suits an emerald in a bezel?

Yes. Every Lisa Robin engagement ring carries a lifetime craftsmanship warranty. If a defect in how your ring was crafted appears at any time, we will repair or replace it, at our option, at no charge. It covers crafting defects only, not wear and tear, accidental damage, theft, or the loss of diamonds or gemstones not caused by a defect. For care beyond the warranty, the JM Care Plan is the lifetime service option.
