The Mia East West Diamond Engagement Ring

The Mia is an east west diamond engagement ring with a horizontally set diamond held in six rounded prongs — a classic silhouette repositioned across the finger rather than rising above it. A modern solitaire engagement ring for couples who see things from their own angle.

Six rounded prongs hold the diamond horizontally with a soft, secure grip — creating a clean east west engagement ring silhouette without the sharper graphic quality of claw prongs. As a horizontal diamond ring, the diamond spans the width of the finger rather than rising above it, catching light differently throughout the day. The result is a low, modern profile that feels effortless on the hand — an east west solitaire designed for everyday wear.

Metal Options 14K Yellow Gold, 14K White Gold, 14K Rose Gold, or Platinum. Sustainably sourced.
Style East west diamond engagement ring
Setting Four or six rounded prongs
Band 2.2mm
Setting Height Medium
Band Profile Round
Crafting Time Approximately 3-4 weeks

Setting starts at $2,195. Paired with a 1 carat lab grown diamond center, the Mia east west diamond engagement ring starts at approximately $3,095.

How does the east-west orientation change the look of the diamond on the hand?

An east-west setting turns your center diamond sideways, so it spans the width of your finger rather than running up and down it. The diamond sits low and lies across the hand, catching light along its length and reading as wider and more modern than the same diamond set north-south.

How does the Mia differ from the Mia Claw Prong east west engagement ring?

Both set your center diamond horizontally. The Mia uses rounded prongs for a soft, secure grip and a smooth silhouette; the Mia Claw Prong uses pointed claw prongs that add a sharper, more graphic edge to the same east-west orientation. Choose the rounded Mia for an effortless look, the claw prong for more architectural definition.

Why choose a horizontal diamond ring over a traditional north-south solitaire?

A horizontal setting reads as distinctly modern and sits lower on the hand than a north-south solitaire, which makes it practical for everyday wear. It also lets elongated shapes like emerald, oval, and marquise span the finger, giving your center diamond a different presence than the conventional upright orientation.

Our guided approach to customizing each ring with intention and clarity.

The Mia East West Diamond Engagement Ring

There is something quietly significant about choosing to set a diamond sideways. The east-west orientation is a small but deliberate departure from tradition — a choice that says: we approach things from our own angle.

The Mia is a horizontal diamond ring built around that conviction. Six rounded prongs hold the diamond across the finger rather than above it; a clean band lets the orientation be the design. As an east west diamond engagement ring, the Mia repositions a solitaire silhouette in one essential way. As an east west solitaire, it carries the same simplicity that has defined solitaires for as long as engagement rings have existed — just turned a quarter turn.

Wear it as a fresh perspective on something that has always been meaningful. The Mia joins a Lisa Robin tradition of east west and solitaire engagement rings designed for couples who value clarity and a quietly distinctive point of view.

Yes. You can personalize any design online — diamond, metal, and finger size — or book a private design appointment in studio or by Zoom to modify a design or create one from scratch. Lisa guides you through the process and you see renderings of your ring before it is crafted.
Each ring is made to order and ready in approximately 3-4 weeks from the time your design is approved.
Both are real diamonds with identical physical and optical properties. A lab grown diamond is created in a controlled setting and generally lets you reach a larger or higher-quality diamond for the same budget. A natural diamond forms over geologic time. The choice is yours.
It depends on how you want the diamond to sit on your hand. A solitaire puts the diamond first; a halo makes it read larger; a hidden halo adds sparkle only seen from the side; a bezel gives the most secure, modern line; a cluster or twist makes a more individual statement. Because every design is hand-crafted to your diamond, you can pair most styles with most shapes.
All four — 14K yellow, white, and rose gold, and platinum — wear well for daily use. White gold and platinum give the brightest, most neutral backdrop for a diamond. Yellow and rose gold add warmth around the center. The best choice is the tone you want to see on your hand.
Yes. If you love a design as it is, you can select your diamond, metal color, and finger size and complete your order online. An appointment is only needed if you want to modify a design or create something fully custom.
