Side Stone Engagement Rings
Designed by Lisa Robin: Side Stone and Three Stone Engagement Rings, Made to Order
What Defines a Lisa Robin Side Stone Engagement Ring
Each Lisa Robin side stone engagement ring is built around the relationship between the center diamond and the diamonds that flank it. The Devon Three Stone Diamond Engagement Ring centers a diamond between two tapered baguette diamonds — the architectural three stone arrangement that's the most recognized version of a side stone design. The tapered baguettes guide the eye toward the center diamond while contributing their own brilliance through long, mirror-like step facets. Each baguette is calibrated to flatter the center without competing with it.
Your ring is hand-crafted to order at our New York workshop after you select your center diamond, side diamond shapes, metal, and any refinements. Designed in Dayton, Ohio. Made in the USA.
Any side stone or three stone design can be refined before crafting begins: change the side diamond shapes (tapered baguettes, rounds, pears, half-moons, trapezoids), adjust the proportions between center and sides, modify the band width, or coordinate the design with a future wedding ring. Custom side stone designs from scratch are also available — the design appointment is the path for that. Pricing for any refinement is shared transparently before approval.

Either way, you see the full specifications — carat, color, clarity, cut, and certification details — along with a video of the actual diamond before you approve it. Lisa is available to guide you through the selection by phone or video appointment if you'd like help, starting at the highest quality and adjusting where it matters least to the eye if budget is a factor.
Available in carat sizes from 0.50 carat through 5+ carats and in every standard shape: round, oval, cushion, emerald cut, pear, princess, marquise, asscher, radiant, and rose cut.
Side Stone and Three Stone Engagement Ring Types in This Collection
Tapered baguette three stone centers a diamond between two long, narrow tapered baguette diamonds. The Devon Three Stone Diamond Engagement Ring is Lisa Robin's signature tapered baguette design — architectural, balanced, and unmistakably classic. This is the most recognized three stone arrangement.
Round side stone places one or more round brilliant diamonds on each side of the center. Round side diamonds add fluid, continuous brilliance and pair beautifully with round, oval, or cushion centers.
Pear and half-moon three stone arrangements use shaped diamonds that hug the silhouette of the center. Pear sides curve outward toward the band; half-moon sides create a softer, rounded transition. These are most often custom-designed to specification.
Mixed-shape side stone pairs different diamond shapes for visual contrast — an emerald cut center with round sides, an oval center with tapered baguettes, or a cushion center with trapezoid sides. Mixed-shape designs are typically created during a private design appointment.
Multi-side-diamond designs place more than one accent diamond on each side of the center — five stone, seven stone, and graduated side stone arrangements that flow toward the center.
Vintage style side stone adds milgrain detail, scalloped edges, or filigree references to any of the arrangements above for an heirloom feel.

Choosing Your Side Stone or Three Stone Engagement Ring
Side diamond shape. Tapered baguettes give the most architectural, geometric look. Round brilliants give the softest, most fluid sparkle. Pear and half-moon shapes follow the curve of the center. Trapezoids and shield cuts create a more sculptural transition. Each side shape changes the character of the entire ring.
Number of side diamonds. A three stone arrangement uses two side diamonds (one per side, three total). Multi-side designs place multiple accent diamonds on each side, creating a continuous line of brilliance flowing toward the center. Both are side stone designs at their core.
Proportions. The relationship between center diamond size and side diamond size is the design's most important variable. Larger sides create a more substantial, balanced silhouette. Smaller sides emphasize the center. Lisa guides this choice during the design process based on your center diamond and your aesthetic.
Symbolism. Three stones traditionally represent past, present, and future. Side stones can symbolize partnership, support, or the people who shaped your relationship. The symbolism is yours to define.
Metal. Side stone and three stone engagement rings are available in 14K yellow gold, 14K white gold, 14K rose gold, and platinum. White metals emphasize the brilliance of every diamond; yellow and rose gold create warmth around the center.
Wedding ring coordination. Side stone and three stone engagement rings pair with straight bands, contoured bands, or diamond bands. Plan the wedding ring during the engagement ring design.
