A full eternity wedding band carries diamonds around the entire circumference (top, sides, and underside). A half eternity wedding band carries diamonds only across the visible top portion (typically 180 degrees), leaving the underside in solid metal. The half eternity offers two advantages: it can be resized in the future (full eternity cannot, because the continuous diamonds prevent cutting through the band), and the solid metal underside is smoother against adjacent fingers. From the wearing angle looking down at your hand, a half eternity and full eternity look nearly identical. Half eternity bands typically cost 30-40% less than full eternity bands due to fewer diamonds.
Yes. Standard accent diamond quality on our wedding rings is VS-SI1 clarity in E-F-G color — high quality but not the maximum. You can specify higher quality (VVS clarity, D-E-F color) at increased pricing, or lower (SI1-SI2 clarity, H-I-J color) for cost reduction. For most accent diamonds in wedding bands (which are typically 0.01-0.05 carat each), the visual difference between standard and higher grades is minimal because the diamonds are too small to show visible inclusions or color tint. Most couples select the higher quality for engagement ring center stones rather than for wedding band accents. We discuss diamond quality during the design conversation.
Diamond wedding band carat weights vary significantly by design. Narrow pavé bands (1-1.5mm wide) carry 0.10-0.30 carat total weight. Standard half eternity bands carry 0.50-1.00 carat total weight. Full eternity bands carry 1.00-2.50 carat total weight depending on diamond size. Statement diamond wedding bands (like the Gabby at 0.90 carats) carry significant individual diamond weight. The choice depends on visual presence preference and budget — more carat weight produces more diamond brilliance and higher cost. Yes. Lab grown diamonds are physically, chemically, and optically identical to natural diamonds — they're real diamonds, just created in a controlled laboratory environment rather than mined from the earth. The crystal structure (carbon arranged in a diamond lattice), hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), optical properties (refraction index, dispersion that produces fire), and gemological grading (color, clarity, cut, carat) are identical between lab grown and natural diamonds. Lab grown diamonds are graded by the same gemological labs (GIA, IGI) on the same scales as natural diamonds. The difference is origin and price; lab grown costs approximately 40-60% less for the same specifications.
The choice depends on visual character preference and pairing with your engagement ring. Round brilliant diamonds produce maximum sparkle and pair coherently with most engagement ring styles. Step-cut diamonds (emerald, baguette, asscher) read architectural and pair best with step-cut center engagement rings. Marquise diamonds read distinctive and pair with marquise, oval, or pear center engagement rings. Princess cut diamonds read angular and modern. Oval diamonds read elegant and elongated. Half eternity and partial-diamond wedding bands can be resized within a reasonable range (typically 2-3 sizes up or down) — the resize work cuts through the band, adjusts the diameter, and rejoins. Some diamonds near the resize area may need to be reset depending on how much adjustment is required. Full eternity bands generally cannot be resized because diamonds run around the entire circumference, preventing the cutting needed for resize work. If future resizability matters to you, choose a half eternity or partial-diamond design rather than full eternity. We discuss specific design resizability during the design conversation.
Diamond wedding rings in this collection are made-to-order in approximately 2-3 weeks from when your order is placed. The crafting process includes sourcing diamonds in your specified origin (lab or natural), size, and quality; alloying the metal; forming the band; hand-setting each diamond; and final finishing. Eternity bands with many diamonds may take the full 3 weeks; narrow pavé bands typically finish in 2 weeks. Custom diamond wedding ring designs take 3-4 weeks from design approval. Engraving adds approximately 1 week to any timeline.

Yes — many wearers choose to wear their engagement ring on one finger and diamond wedding band on another (often switching the engagement ring to the right hand after the wedding). The choice is personal and doesn't affect either ring's design. If you anticipate wearing your wedding band on its own (without the engagement ring) frequently, choose a wedding band design that reads complete and distinctive on its own rather than one designed primarily to nest against the engagement ring.
Yes. We can replace any lost diamond on a ring we've crafted. The replacement diamond is sourced to match the original specifications (lab grown or natural, same size, same color, same clarity), set in the same setting style, and finished to match the original ring. Diamond loss is rare with proper care and annual prong inspection (a free service we provide for any ring we've crafted), but if it happens, replacement work is straightforward.
