What does opaque chocolate diamond mean?

An opaque chocolate diamond is a natural rustic chocolate diamond with rich brown color and a non-transparent surface. The Parker's 1.5 carat center is rose cut from this natural rough material, preserving the deep chocolate color across the surface — closer to the raw stone than a transparent diamond, and denser in saturation.

How does the Parker chocolate diamond compare to the Parker rose cut diamond?

Both rings share the Parker setting — a rose cut center with cluster accent diamonds and a recycled gold band. The Parker rose cut diamond ring carries a transparent colorless rose cut center, with the customer selecting the size. The Parker chocolate diamond engagement ring carries a fixed 1.5 carat opaque chocolate diamond paired with champagne diamond accents.

What is the difference between champagne and chocolate diamonds?

Champagne and chocolate diamonds both sit on the natural brown diamond spectrum. Champagne diamonds carry a soft golden to honey brown, lighter and warmer. Chocolate diamonds carry a deeper, richer brown — closer to dark chocolate or espresso. The Parker pairs them deliberately: chocolate at the center, champagne in the accents.

The Parker 1.5 Carat Opaque Chocolate and Champagne Diamond Ring

Some couples are drawn to brilliance. Others are drawn to depth.

The Parker 1.5 carat opaque chocolate and champagne diamond ring is built for the second. The chocolate diamond center is rose cut from a natural rustic diamond — opaque rather than transparent, holding its dark brown color across the surface and through the stone. The rose cut shape gives the chocolate diamond a soft candlelit surface rather than the electric flash of a brilliant cut. The champagne diamond clusters on each shoulder echo the chocolate's warmth in a lighter register, drawing the eye toward the center without competing with it. The recycled 14K gold band keeps the design close to the hand.

The Parker joins a Lisa Robin tradition of rose cut and alternative engagement rings designed for couples who choose with intention.

Design Process

The Lisa Robin Design Experience

A thoughtful process designed to bring clarity and confidence to the creation of your ring.

Online Ordering

Order your engagement ring through a clearly guided online experience, supported by in-depth educational resources throughout the website. If you’d like to personalize the setting, simply place your order—we’ll follow up to refine the details and align everything with your preferences.

Private Design Appointments

For a more collaborative experience, work with us one-on-one, either in person or virtually. We’ll guide you through each decision in real time, shaping your engagement ring with clarity and intention.

This ring is offered complete. The center is already selected and included in the price, so there's nothing further for you to source or choose.

Where the center is a one-of-a-kind gemstone, we'll send you an image of the actual gemstone before it's set — so you see the exact piece going into your ring rather than a representative photograph.

Before your ring is hand-crafted, you’ll review detailed renderings created using your diamond’s dimensions. Multiple views allow proportions and design details to be carefully reviewed, and you’ll approve the design before crafting begins. If a wedding ring is selected on the same order, renderings will also show the rings individually and together so you can see how they pair.

Once your design is approved, your ring is hand-crafted specifically for you and typically completed in about three weeks.

More about Lisa Robin champagne and chocolate diamond engagement rings

A champagne or chocolate diamond engagement ring features a warm-tone brown diamond as the center stone instead of a colorless diamond. Champagne diamonds are the lighter end of the spectrum — soft golden warmth — while chocolate diamonds are the deeper end — rich amber, cocoa, and dark coffee tones. Both have the same Mohs 10 hardness and full diamond brilliance as colorless diamonds. Champagne and chocolate are also called brown diamonds; the color comes from trace nitrogen and subtle lattice variations.
The C1–C7 scale grades champagne and chocolate diamonds by saturation depth. C1 is the lightest, near-colorless with subtle warmth; C7 is the deepest cocoa. Most engagement-ring buyers select C3 through C5 — visible warm color with balanced brilliance. C6 and C7 are the chocolate-end stones, typically chosen for vintage-style and rose cut designs. We help you match grade to the look you want during diamond selection.
Settings start at $1,895. A 1 carat lab grown champagne or chocolate diamond brings most rings to roughly $2,795 fully built — the same baseline as our colorless diamond rings. Natural champagne and chocolate diamonds price closer to lab grown than other colored diamonds because they're the most common naturally-occurring colored diamond family. We share itemized pricing for every quote.
They're all the same diamond family — warm-tone diamonds with body color from trace nitrogen and lattice variations. "Champagne" generally describes lighter, more golden stones (C1–C4 on the grading scale). "Chocolate" generally describes deeper, more cocoa-toned stones (C5–C7). "Brown" is the broader industry term that covers the entire warm-tone spectrum. Different retailers use different terms — we use champagne and chocolate to match the consumer language couples actually search.
Yellow gold deepens the warm tone and reads as one continuous golden statement — the most popular pairing for champagne specifically. Rose gold creates a romantic warm-on-warm pairing especially beautiful with chocolate diamonds. White gold and platinum heighten contrast, making the warm color stand out vividly against the cool metal. We mock options up before you decide.
3–4 weeks from the day your order is finalized. Diamond selection, CAD review, casting, setting, and inspection happen in that window. We keep you informed at every milestone.
Yes. Choose any of our settings (Allison, Polaris, Parker Rose Cut, Jaylin, Hadley, Nova, and others) with a champagne or chocolate diamond center, in any C-grade, shape, and metal.
