How does the Sierra differ from a typical pear-shaped engagement ring?

Most pear halos use one uniform ring of round diamonds. The Sierra sizes them unevenly — larger round diamonds mark the four compass points with smaller ones filling between, which is what gives the halo its vintage cluster look — and round diamonds continue down the shank so the brightness doesn't stop at the halo.

Why a pear cut rather than another shape for the Sierra?

The pear cut gives you one rounded end and one point, so the ring has a direction: the point aims up the finger and draws the hand longer. The Sierra's larger compass-point diamonds pick that axis up at four places around the halo, so the outline reads as four marked directions instead of a plain circle.

Will the halo make the Sierra look larger than the sapphire I choose?

Yes, noticeably. The halo adds a full ring of round diamonds around the sapphire, and the larger compass-point diamonds push the outline further at the top, bottom, and both sides, so a smaller pear still covers the finger like a larger one. If you want the sapphire itself to lead, size up the center rather than relying on the halo to do it.

Our guided approach to customizing each ring with intention and clarity.

Every Lisa Robin ring is made to order, which means your design can be thoughtfully refined—even when ordering online. Whether you’re adjusting a detail or evolving the design, we guide you through each decision to ensure the final piece feels cohesive and entirely yours.

Design Refinements can be explored after your initial order, with any pricing adjustments clearly outlined and approved before crafting begins.

Refinement options include but are not limited to:

  • Adjusting the width or taper of the band (shank)
  • Modifying or adding side diamonds for additional detail or presence
  • Changing the prong style (claw, round, double prong, etc.)
  • Adjusting the number of prongs for both aesthetic and structure
  • Refining the basket design for a different profile or overall look
  • Selecting your preferred metal type and color
  • Adapting the design to better coordinate with a wedding ring

Pear and Compass, Curve Meeting Point

A pear cut is asymmetric by nature — one rounded end, one pointed. The Sierra answers that asymmetry with halo geometry that points in four directions of its own.

Sapphire runs from every saturation of blue to yellow, pink, green, and the rare padparadscha, so the color story here is the sapphire you choose against your metal.

On the hand, the Sierra reads both lyrical and dynamic — the pear's curve against the directional pull of the compass points. The Sierra is for couples who want a pear's softness held inside structure, not a bare solitaire's point left unframed.
