Style Insecurity

I just spent a week in Castle Rock, CO with Jamie and Cristi. I can text and talk and keep up with their lives from here. With little Caleb (aka Smiley) arriving early this year, it is even more important to “be” there.  Be there in person. But you immediately know upon arrival at the house on Rawhide Circle that you have entered Emma’s world.

The household revolves around Emma. She is a three and a half-year-old woman after my own heart. She knows what she wants. And she expects to get it. She has an incredible imagination, is very smart, and just a little bossy. Again, a woman after my own heart. And she is finding her style.
Style
What do you think about when you hear someone use the word “style”? Most people think of one’s fashion or outer appearance. Emma reminds me it’s the complete package of the way you dress, speak, move, or do anything for that matter. Style is how we express our inner being. Our outer style is a reflection of our inner thoughts, emotions, interests, and values. Everything on the outside is merely a reflection of what’s on the inside. Emma will continue to develop her style for years to come.

I observe style insecurity with so many women who are unsure of how to put the entire package together to actually reflect their inner values. I get it is a little tricky to combine your beliefs with your lifestyle to define your own unique style. What you wear is not going to make up the entire impression other have of you. But it does make up over 80% of their first impression. It’s important. Be honest. We have all done it… judge the book by the cover.

You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It’s a way of life. Without it, you’re nobody.” — Diana Vreeland

Most women can get dressed and feel pretty good about the clothing part of their style. It seems when it comes to jewelry, they become overwhelmed. Some default to a simple, small piece of jewelry they wear every day. Others just avoid jewelry altogether.

Style

Just showing a woman how to wear a few pieces of jewelry creates confidence. I watch my customers bloom. Jewelry is the final connection between the person inside and the style outside. It reflects who you are. Aligning our inner self with our outer self builds our confidence. Our happiness comes from our self-esteem. It builds an upward momentum towards limitless potential.  I love helping women on their journey.

Emma is already exploring all the sides of herself. She will find her style. Maybe she will look to her Gi Gi for inspiration.
