Opal is For October

Emma and me, we are October babes. Oh, and I almost forgot our newest addition to the family, Julie, our American Girl. I am going to assume Julie will have as big a birthday in October as Emma since Emma is insisting Julie needs an American Girl friend, too. Many of you know what I am talking about.

Us October babes get Opals and Tourmaline to celebrate our birth month. Both gems are a rainbow of colors; tourmaline is in cranberry red, hot magenta, bubblegum pink, perky peach, canary yellow, green as grass, sea blue, and vivid violet. But Opals combine the rainbow within the gem. Opals were known as the Queen of Gems in ancient times because of that.

Since Opals are the most individual gemstone with its range of colors be sure to choose one that showcases your color preference and pattern.

African Opals have a very different look and go by a variety of names; variscite, aqua terra, as well as impression jasper. Whatever you call it, this blue is spectacular!

Happy Birthday to all of your other October Babes!
