A classic, according to Wikipedia, is an outstanding example of a particular style; something of lasting worth or with a timeless quality; of the first or highest quality, class, or rank – something that exemplifies its class.
For me, curating the classic wardrobe pieces is a lifelong endeavor. I have been guilty of purchasing clothing items, usually because they were at a fantastic sale price, without regard for how I would make them work in my wardrobe. And after holding on to them, unworn, they would eventually make their way to the consignment shop. I have broken my habit of removing tags right away though. Sometimes I realize the error quickly enough and return them or at least they are more desirable with tags when I drop them at Loralei's Resale Boutique.
So I decided I need a list of classics to keep in my wardrobe. I think the old adage was to buy quality classics and keep them forever. But now I think the classics can be updated to reflect trends and don't need to break the bank. They are really just the core pieces of nice quality every gal needs. My jewelry designs and attitude reflect the same mindset. There is nothing worse than seeing a well-dressed woman wearing cheap costume jewelry. It degrades the entire look. I really think many women don't know how to accessorize so they grab something without thought or don't accessorize at all. That may be even worse.
So here is my list of must have jewelry. See Do You Have These Classic Accessories In Your Closet? for my list of accessories and Classic Style Basics You Need To Own for my list of clothing.
