Shortly after I met Doug, the band CORE was founded. A group gathered in my kitchen before the first public appearance. We all piled into that open mic night at Habits Cafe in Oakley, a neighborhood in Cincinnati. For the band, it was the beginning of a journey. That journey has included musicians, who also are good friends, some still in the band and some not. And the wives have been there for the crazy "behind the scenes" issues.
Music has been such a big part of my life with Doug. Not only with CORE but exposure to music in general. We recently saw, twice, in fact, one of our favorites, SafteySuit. And the second time the concert happened to be at 20th Century Theatre which is right across the street from Habit's Cafe. I guess life works in circles.
Sometimes song lyrics can express exactly how you feel. In this case, they definitely do. You still get my heart racing for you.
I’ll never stop trying
I’ll never stop watching as you leave
I’ll never stop losing my breath
Every time I see you looking back at me
I’ll never stop holding your hand
I’ll never stop opening your door
I’ll never stop choosing you babe
I’ll never get used to you

That night at 20th Century Theatre, Doug Brown, SafetySuits lead singer brought this beautiful young lady onto his lap to help him sing. A little googling and I found this video.
Happy Valentine's Day to my husband, lover, and best friend. I love you!
